Sex and the City of God...Biblical Marriage Series

Creation of Marriage (Teaching Outline)

Redemptive Story
The writings found in the Bible were placed there and written for a specific reason. If one were to read Scripture looking for a purpose, one would find that it is quite clear what it would be. After reading and looking at the Scriptures as a whole, one would find that the story of the Bible is the narrative of God coming to be with his people as their Lord, in his countrol, authority, and presence. After the creation and teh fall, the story is about redemption, and thus about Jesus.

It is all about God coming to rule over man and after the fall it was on Jesus coming to die for the sins of man on the cross at Calvary. In the perspective of marriage, it is very important to see that Jesus is and always has been God's plan to save humanity. Jesus was not some afterthought or a plan b after Adam and Eve sinned but was ALWAYS the plan and means and this thought points us into the right direction. If Jesus was the plan, how was Jesus to come amoung man, to live and die?

God’s Intention for Marriage-Gen 1 and 2

Giving of Cultural Mandate-Gen 1:28
-Man’s whole life is governed by God’s Commands
-Man is to subdue the Earth and have Dominion over
-Fruitful; Multiply and fill the earth with human beings created in the image of God

who, and fill the Earth with divine presence.
Protoevangelium-Gen 3:15

The family is the vehicle God uses to fulfill His purpose for our lives, the culture mandate and the coming of Jesus (redemptive story). God used marriage and family to bring Jesus and without Jesus we would not have a chance.

Ethical Issue-When Is The Right Time?

Bible doesn’t specify age of marriage (therefore) sex.
During Bible times, people got married younger
(Suits male sexual peak….Less single parents)
But young marriage today doesn’t fit well into modern culture
Cant reach proper education levels for career
Age and Biblical teaching keeps marriage….Now Days
